Hype has been an unfortunate factor in the sneaker world. Limited quantities, the media, and individuals offering cars for the "Galaxy" Foamposite, which released today, made sure to make this one of the largest, if the not the largest, release we have ever seen. So large, the release description should be changed from Quickstrike to Teargas Release considering the fact that teargas needed to be used to control large riots caused by this sneaker. eBay and Craigslist prices have averaged in the $1,300 area but one reseller has his pair of "Galaxys" on the bid of $80,000. Buggin' Out for "Galaxy" Foams

Remember the Nike Dunk SB "Pigeon"? For those of you that do, these past couple of days may seem like de ja vu to you. In 2005, the "Pigeon" SBs were one of the biggest sneaker releases we have seen in years. Due to their limited quantity, fights broke out and cops had to intervene to control the madness. Similarly, the "Galaxy" Foamposite has been stirring up all kinds of madness from a week of campouts to over 1K pre-sale prices on eBay and Craigslist. We have all seen traders offering electronics/clothing/a couple pairs for a fresh pair of kicks but this guy really took it to another level. Hatfield Rocks Exclusive Heat

It is no surpirse that Tinker Hatfield, the creator of the Air Jordan 3, can get his hands (and feet) on the most exclusive footwear. On Feb. 7th, during the unvieling event of the Jordan 2012, Hatfield was seen rocking a pair of "Oregon Ducks" 3s which were made exclusivley for Oregon's students. At a glance, this pair looks like the recently released Black/Cement 3s but these feature a yellow Oregon "O" on the tongue, "Pit Crew" branding, and duck feet on the heel.

One of the most coveted colorways of the AJ Retro 12 will re-release this spring for the third time since 1997. The "Playoff" 12 was first retroed in 2004. These feature a black upper, the trademark side panel in white, white outsole, and red accents on the tongue, heel, and outsole. They will release April 21st for a retail of $160.  This year is the year of the 12s...and the 4s... and the 10s... but we don't hear anyone complaining. The "Cool Grey" 12s surfaced late last year and received many mixed feelings. This retro features a cool grey upper, white midsole, and team orange accents on the heel, tongue, and side panel. The "Cool Grey" 12s are expected to release May 2012. This is shaping to be the most expensive Summer for sneakerheads in the past couple of years.
